Improved promotion and financial support for studying abroad

Study Abroad

You told us:

Your feedback told us that many students weren’t aware of the opportunity to study abroad and others were put off by the cost.

What we did:

We’ve introduced four new funding schemes for students who receive a place on the Study Abroad programme who are going outside of an Erasmus exchange (as Erasmus already carries funding). Students can receive £500-£1,000 to help with the cost of studying abroad.

We also increased our promotional activities last semester, including a bigger and better Study Abroad Fair, which we followed up with Study Abroad talks and emails to inform students who couldn’t attend the events how they could find out more.

We have been pleased to see a 29% increase in applications and hope to continue to improve our promotional activities next year with an even bigger Study Abroad Fair – Study Abroad Team

Have your say:

Were you aware of the opportunities and support available to study abroad? Is the University doing enough to help students who are interested in studying or working abroad as part of their undergraduate degree?
