Updated password security measures

You told us

In the last CSD survey you told us that our existing measures for keeping passwords secure were outdated and inconvenient.

What we did

The 90-day password expiry security measure on University accounts has been removed. Students can now keep the same password for as long as they wish. In its place a new security measure has been introduced which ‘locks out’ a University account following a number of failed logon attempts using an incorrect password.  Account lock out is standard practice for many resources accessed online, such as bank accounts, and will significantly improve security.
