Two students have been awarded scholarships from the ScottishPower Foundation and its Spanish equivalent Fundación IBERDROLA to study at the University of Liverpool.
Spanish student Alejandro Sánchez Lafuente has arrived at the University following the completion of a MEng in Industrial Engineering at Polytecnic University of Cartagena. He will be in Liverpool for a year to complete an MSc in Energy Generation.
He has been joined on the scholarship programme by Ramón Agudo Porras, who is studying an MSc in Sustainable Civil Engineering (Structural) after completing a degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters in Renewable Energies at the University of Jaén and more than four years of work experience in the building sector.
The students are just two of 13 to have been awarded scholarships to study courses in energy and environment related disciplines. British and Spanish graduates are eligible to apply.
The ScottishPower Foundation, along with its Spanish equivalent Fundación IBERDROLA, funds a number of scholarship and research grant programmes focused on energy and environment.
The Foundation aims to promote the training of professionals who are capable of leading the industry towards a sustainable model that meets the energy needs of society and contributes to the protection of the environment.
