Finance in the spotlight for National Student Money Week

Money

Activities are taking place across campus to highlight student finance as part of  National Student Money Week.

National Student Money Week, which kicks off a month long campaign, features a series of activities which have been organised to raise awareness of what financial support is available and where students can access advice and guidance.

The Financial Support Team will be offering ‘student wealth checks’ for the whole month. Every 10th person to attend will receive a voucher worth £10. Students are being encouraged to take along evidence of income (student funding/benefits) and expenditure to the sessions to make sure they’re receiving everything they’re entitled to.

The Financial Support Team is also holding a drop-in session for financial queries in the Sydney Jones Library on Thursday, 13 February between 11am and 2pm.

A competition has been organised in the Student Services Centre to gather suggestions for a cheap Valentines night out or value gift ideas. Freebees are on offer for all students who pop in and the winning idea will receive a prize.

Next week (17 – 21 February) a talk by a local Credit Union will be taking place to offer advice to students about saving and the cost of payday lending.

For further details or to access a full list of events taking place please visit the University’s National Student Money Week website or contact the Financial Support Team on fst@liv.ac.uk or 0151 794 5861.
