Communication Studies and Politics undergraduate and member of the School of the Arts (SOTA) Student Press team, Gee Canning, has been exploring graduate career options ahead of the careers event this week:
Former Univeristy of Liverpool student Felicity Pilsworth will be talking about her job as David Guetta’s tour and production assistant at an event on Wednesday (19 February).
The SOTA Careers event is welcoming Felicity to discuss how she came to be David Guetta’s tour and production assistant, her role in the industry and her experiences over the past two years.
Felicity (pictured above at T in the Park), who has a degree in English Language and Literature as well as an MA in Music Industry Studies, will also discuss what it is like to be a female in the largely male dominated production industry.
Commenting on the kind of work she does for David Guetta Felicity said: “I look after David and his guests. I help to coordinate meet and greets and the general logistics of the event from the artist and crew perspective and, the bonus is that I get to enjoy watching the show from the stage and meet really interesting people.”
The event mirrors one attended by Felicity three years ago where she met a contact which eventually led to her new job.
She added: “If that isn’t a selling point I don’t know what is.”
The careers event is being held at 2:30pm in Lecture Theatre 3 in the South Campus Teaching Hub (formerly the Law School). Students in the School of the Arts are being encouraged to come along and listen to first hand experience of an industry. The event’s special guest has assured organisers that she can “talk for England, so hopefully I’ll have lots of interesting stories to tell.”
