An event organised by Liverpool Guild of Students (LGoS) is taking place next week to mark World Water Day 2014.
The event will welcome a guest speaker from WaterAid who will talk about the charity’s work around the world and the global water crisis, as well as LGoS Vice-President, Leigh-Angel Bevan, who will speak about the ‘Bring Your Own Bottle’ (BYOB) campaign.
There will also be a rally in University Square before a FREE lunch of homemade vegetable soup is served in the Stanley Theatre, Reilly Building.
In the UK, it’s easy to take water for granted yet 768 million people around the world have no clean water to drink.
Alongside the BYOB campaign, which aims to reduce the use and purchasing of plastic bottled water on campus and create more free water access points, the Guild has also launched its Student Switch Off Water Challenge – a campaign to encourage students to show a commitment to saving water.
The event will take place on Monday, 24 March starting at 12 noon in University Square.
