Harold Cohen Library refurbishment begins

Harold Cohen

The University is starting a £2.6 million refurbishment of the Harold Cohen Library.

The works will take place over the summer ready to reopen for the new academic year in September.

Once complete the Library will have a new look reception area, an additional 220 study spaces, more power sockets, more social seating space, as well as a postgraduate study room and eight new bookable group study rooms.

Work starts at 10.00pm on Friday, 30 May and will continue throughout the summer. The Library will close at 6pm Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday for the summer period.

All computer rooms and book stock will be accessible although some study rooms will be closed.  Students studying over the summer months are being encouraged to make use of the Sydney Jones Library, which will be operating with longer opening hours to accommodate people. Opening hours can be accessed here: http://libguides.liv.ac.uk/hours

A book reservation service will also be in place allowing students to order books they require to be delivered to the Sydney Jones for collection if they are unable to get to the Harold Cohen Library during the revised opening hours.

Regular updates will be posted to a dedicated website which has been set up to keep students up-to-date with progress, as well as via Twitter @LivUniLibrary.
