New look Student Digital launched

Digital University

The University has launched a new look Student Digital portal to improve access to useful services and information.

The new pages have been streamlined to provide improved organisation of key links, a more user-friendly design, and additional space for news. Other changes include greater profile for social media, events and announcements.

Student Digital is a gateway for students to access important information, facilitating navigation to key tools such as VITAL and Liverpool Life as well as services including the Library, Computing Services, Sport and the Careers and Employability Service.

Students at the University can use it to access updates including free PC seats on campus and the current IT service status, as well as the latest part-time job, placement and internship opportunities being advertised via the Careers service.

The update is part of a drive to improve access to information via digital channels at the University and reduce the volume of information which is sent out to students via email.

Head of Digital Communications, Mike Deyes, explained: “Student Digital is one of the most popular pages on the University website – students use it as a gateway to access a full range of University services and information so it’s important that it is as accessible and easy to use as possible.

“The new design uses modern techniques which we hope will enhance the user experience.”

Considerable redevelopment of the University’s web portfolio has taken place over the last few years. Around 100 new websites have been redeveloped across the three faculties and central student services, and more are planned for the coming year.

I agree with Kelly, first thing I looked for was the colour scheme customisation, otherwise it basically looks the same for me.
