Assessment and marking boycott

The University and College Union (UCU) is planning continuous action short of a strike over forthcoming proposals for changes to the USS Pension Scheme.

The action will take the form of an assessment and marking boycott starting on Thursday, 6 November 2014.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Howard Newby, said ”This is a national dispute which, unfortunately, the University has no control over.

“The University will do all it can to mitigate the impact of any action which may be taken and to ensure that no student is disadvantaged.

“It is important that you continue to hand in any assessments/assignments which you have been set by the stipulated deadlines.

“The University will be open throughout the duration of any action and we will make every effort to inform you in advance of any changes that may affect you.”

Students are advised to contact their School Office with any queries.
