‘You Say, We Pay’ – National Student Survey now open

The National Student Survey is now open, giving final year undergraduate students the opportunity to share their views about their experience at University.

Students who complete the survey online will receive £3 in free print credits to say thank you for taking part. In addition, the department with the most improved response rate within each Faculty will each win a £500 Graduation Package from Hospitality Liverpool.

Students who are eligible to take part are asked to give their opinion on a number of areas including teaching quality, assessment and feedback on their work, academic support and learning resources. The results, which are published in September, are an important indicator of student satisfaction.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dinah Birch, said: “The results of the NSS are extremely important to the University. The data provides valuable feedback about various aspects of the student experience and is used to guide improvements and address specific issues. Achieving a high response rate is essential in order to generate useful and meaningful results.”

The NSS is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and administered by independent research agency Ipsos MORI. It is part of a quality assurance system to generate more detailed information about teaching quality.

You can find out more about improvements which have been made based on previous years’ feedback by looking at ‘student feedback’ ( where you can find out what the University is doing as a result of your feedback and tell us what you think.

All eligible students will receive an email inviting them to take part in the survey.
