Feeling the pressure to find your next pad? Don’t Let Yet!

Rental agreement papers

Liverpool Guild of Students has launched it’s ‘Don’t Let Yet’ campaign to encourage students to think carefully before agreeing to accommodation.

Many students end up disappointed after rushing into signing for a place to live, only to fall out with housemates, feel unhappy with the location or face problems with the landlord.

As part of the Don’t Let Yet campaign, led by Guild Deputy President Alex Ferguson, students are being encouraged to take their time to think about what kind of accommodation they are looking for, who they want to live with, and where in Liverpool they would like to be.

As part of the campaign, students can visit the giant house on the street (outside the Courtyard in the Guild) to share information about potential accommodation problems. On Thursday, 5 November between 11am and 3pm there will also be a bouncy inflatable house for students to enjoy whilst hearing about the Don’t Let Yet campaign.

All students are being encouraged to hold off accommodation searches until the Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) Housing Fair on Wednesday, 9th December. The event gives students the opportunity to meet reputable letting agencies and see the kind of accommodation available, and how much they might need to pay.

Further support with housing issues can be found on the Guild’s advice pages and on the Liverpool Student Homes website.
