The Liverpool Doctoral College (LDC) is piloting a new scheme, aimed at postgraduate research students, to support work placements outside of academia.
As part of the LDC’s commitment to employability, the scheme is designed to enable the development of mutually beneficial work placements through ideas that originate from supervisors, students and external partners.
Applicants to the scheme, which includes a £500 bursary, also have the opportunity to apply for the LDC top up bursary fund, for placement opportunities that are particularly promising and may exceed the normal amount.
Director of the LDC, Professor Graham Kemp said: “Our postgraduate research students have a great deal to offer, as we know from the testimonies of our partner organisations. I look forward to seeing the many interesting outcomes this collaborative programme will bring.”
In a second phase of the scheme, the LDC will be working with nominated organisations to present a range of placement opportunities for students to apply for.
