Students are being encouraged to put themselves forward as a University of Liverpool ‘Defectives’ team to learn about software testing.

The Defectives is a software testing focused community for the UK run by ROQ IT where teams of software testers or developers work (or compete) with each other in a variety of fun and innovative ways.

The Defectives community aims to:

  • Share development lifecycle knowledge and experience;
  • Help software developers learn and develop new skills;
  • Build awareness of industry techniques from guest speakers.

The Defectives University Challenge is a specific event open to North West Universities and is a fun introduction to the software development lifecycle. Team will work together to find defects on specific websites against the clock – with a chance to win The Defectives University Challenge trophy.

Students from all years and all courses can put themselves forward. No previous knowledge of software testing is required to take part as training will be given, just a general interest, appreciation of IT and a sense of fun.

The event will take place on Thursday, 25 February 2016, ROQ IT labs, Chorley from 6pm onwards.

The deadline for confirming interest and entering a team is Wednesday, 10 February 2016.
