Students on environmental or sustainable energy-related programmes can now apply for a generous scholarship opportunity funded by the ScottishPower Foundation.
ScottishPower, in partnership with its Spanish equivalent Fundacion IBERDROLA, is investing more than £1.65 million in research and education programmes between the UK and Spain, with scholarships seeking to promote excellence in education in the area of energy.
The scholarship is open to British, Spanish, and American students who have already enrolled on one of the qualifying masters programmes:
- MSC Advanced Mechanical Engineering
- MSC Conservation and Resource Management
- MSC Environment and Climate Change
- MSC (ENG) Energy and Power Systems
- MSC Civil and Environmental Engineering
- MSC Environmental Assessment and Management
- MSC Environmental Science
- MSC Marine Planning and Management
Successful applicants will receive funding which covers full tuition fees and a monthly allowance of £1,200 per month.
Commenting on the scholarships, Dr Jonathan Bridge who is a lecturer in Environmental Engineering at the University, said: “The Scottish Power/Iberdrola Scholarship is a prestigious and generous award which recognises not only the most talented young engineers, but also the broad range of engineering disciplines which will play an essential role in the sustainable future of energy generation.
