Liverpool Guild of Students is encouraging students to get involved in Student Volunteering Week which is taking place from 22 – 28 February.
The week aims encourage and inspire students to volunteer, by celebrating the achievements and impact of volunteers in the local community and showcasing opportunities.
The main focus of the week on campus will be the Volunteering Fair on Tuesday, 23 February which will bring together more than 50 organisations with volunteering opportunities for students to get involved with.
Wednesday, 24 February is the Really Big Student Volunteering Day which offers lots of exciting one-off volunteering opportunities with local organisations, including:
- Refugee Services Drop In Volunteer with the British Red Cross
- Outreach Volunteer with MOWLL (Moving on with Life and Learning)
- Office and Donations Volunteer with MRANG (Merseyside Refugee & Asylum Seekers Pre & Post Natal Support Group)

On Thursday, 25 February, students can register for the Introduction to Volunteering Careers Session – a workshop designed to give students a better understanding of volunteering, how it can help you and how to get involved.
For those who want to get involved but don’t have much time to spare, Friday, 26 February will bring the Micro-volunteering opportunity. Students will be encouraged to take a five minute break to play Free Rice – a trivia game which donates 10 grains of rice to the World Food Programme for every correct answer you get.
