Details of the new government-backed loan scheme for full and part-time master’s programmes starting from September 2016 have now been confirmed.
Students who normally live in England or are an EU national can borrow up to £10,000 to study a taught, research or professional master’s programme. The loan can be used to cover the cost of tuition fees as well as other expenses associated with study.
A number of scholarship and award opportunities are also available to those going on to postgraduate study at the University including the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship which was established in 2004 following the receipt of a generous donation from the Duncan Norman Charitable Trust.
The competitive scholarship offers a £15,000 annual maintenance stipend, full payment of tuition fees and free University accommodation and is open for applications from all prospective UK, EU and International postgraduate research candidates.
The Sir Joseph Rotblat Alumni Scholarship, which has been made possible through the generous donations of alumni, is open to all prospective UK, EU and International postgraduate research students who hold a first class degree or distinction at master’s-level from the University of Liverpool.
Those with a strong familial connection to the Merseyside area who are considering either taught or research postgraduate study can apply for the John Lennon Memorial Scholarship. The deadline for applications to all of these scholarships is 5pm on Thursday, 31 March 2016.
Students on environmental or sustainable energy-related programmes can apply for a generous scholarship opportunity funded by the ScottishPower Foundation. The scholarship, which covers full tuition fees as well as a monthly allowance of £1,200 per month is open to British, Spanish, and American students who have already enrolled on one of the qualifying master’s programmes. All University of Liverpool students are eligible for the Postgraduate Progression Award which offers a 20% reduction in taught tuition fees.
