The University of Liverpool is ranked 76th in a new top 200 European Universities ranking published by the Times Higher Education (THE).
The rankings are based on the THE World Universities, published in 2015, where institutions were measured on their teaching environment; research environment; citations; industry; income; and international outlook.
Liverpool is ranked 21st in the Russsell Group and 26th in the UK. UK universities make up 46 of the top 200, followed by Germany with 26 and Italy with 19 institutions. Oxford, Cambridge and London Imperial make up the top three respectively.
Liverpool was ranked 157th in the Times Higher Education (THE) World ranking in 2015, maintaining the same position as 2014.
The result placed Liverpool 21st in the Russell Group, ahead of Cardiff, Newcastle and Queen’s College Belfast.
