World culture celebration, Globe Fest, is taking place this week at the Liverpool Guild of Students.
The Street will be transformed into a colourful wonderland on Thursday, 28 April with society-run stalls offering games, food, drink and lots of cultural information.
A number of Guild stalls will also be there offering flag making, a culture quiz with a Guild prize bundle and an interactive map. Everything on offer through the day will be absolutely free.
The free event will run from 11am – 2pm and will continue again in the evening from 7pm with the Afro-Caribbean Society’s Culture Vault: http://www.liverpoolguild.org/groups/afro-caribbean/events/acs-liverpool-culture-vault
The idea for the event came through the Guild’s Change It system, where students can put forward ideas and suggestions to make university life better. Globe Fest was an idea put forward by a modern foreign languages student following the Paris attacks last year to encourage celebration of different cultures.
