Wirral Loop Line train disruption: Advice and guidance

If you travel by train on the Wirral Loop Line, your travel plans may be disrupted between 3 January 2017 and 18 June 2017.

Merseyrail, the rail operator who run Wirral line trains, are carrying out significant engineering work during this period. Consequently, part of the Wirral line will close for six months.

For the most up-to-date travel information, please visit Merseyrail’s Wirral Track Renewal webpages.  You can also read the Wirral Loop Line Track Renewal booklet.

Merseyrail are undertaking the work in order to replace the loop’s 1.2km of concrete tack and 1.1km ballast track. The base, which is 40-years-old, will be dug out and replaced with new concrete and new track.
