Following last week’s successful crime prevention and safety advice event the University’s Campus Support Team, in partnership with the Guild of Students, will be running another one today (Friday, 9 December).
These events are a combined effort between our Campus Support Staff and the campus police officer, PC Sergeant, and they cover all aspects of what is on offer to both students and staff in relation to personal safety and crime prevention.
Students and members of staff are encouraged to attend the event that will see members of the Campus Support Team running a stall between 10am and 3pm in the Guild of Students and providing crime prevention, personal and bike safety advice.
The event will also provide the opportunity for students to register their bikes with the Merseyside Police Bike Safe scheme and information is provided about the subsidised D-Locks available for purchase at the Guild shop.
Mobile phone registration is on offer to all from PC Sergeant.
Attendees are also encouraged to raise any security or safety concerns they have with Campus Support.
If you are unable to attend this event, hints and tips on how to stay safe can also be found here.
Safety and welfare
These events have been organised as part of the response to the recent reports of anti-social behaviour on the campus.
Students and staff are urged to continue reporting these matters to us. The more information we have ensures our resources are used in the best way to target these offenders and to support the safety of all staff and students. Please call the Campus Support Team immediately should you see any suspicious activity on campus. The team can be reached on 2222 from an internal phone or 0151 794 2222 from a mobile or external phone
