Students from the School of Dentistry have created a festive video to raise money for Merseyside Head and Neck Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK.
The students, who are part of Liverpool University Dental Students’ Society (LUDSS), are hoping to raise £1,000 for their chosen charities.
Emma Morgan, the Co-President of LUDSS, said: “We support Merseyside Head and Neck Cancer Care each year as it is something particularly relevant to us as dental students. In previous years we have raised money through bake sales and a half marathon, but this year we want to do even more.
“We hope to use this video to highlight the hard work we do at the dental hospital, and hopefully encourage people to attend the dentist.”
In the video, students and staff sing along to Shakin’ Stevens’ Merry Christmas Everyone before breaking into a dentist-themed mannequin challenge.
Before you watch, we just wanted to give you a little warning that there is some fake blood in the footage.
So far, LUDSS have raised £380 of their £1,000 target. Josh Patel, who is the other Co-President of LUDSS, said: “We have had a really positive response towards the video and we would like to thank everybody who has donated so far. We would also like to thank all the staff and students who took part, especially Viraj Patel who edited the video.”
