Varsity – a competition between our students and students from Liverpool John Moores University – is taking place this week.
The annual competition kicks off tonight (Monday, 27 March) at 7pm with the swimming mixed team event. Three days of sporting fixtures follow and you’ll be able to watch our teams battle it out at venues across the city.
Oba Akinwale, Deputy President of the Guild, said: “Today marks the start of one of the biggest events in the student calendar – Varsity 2017. We’re the current Varsity title holders and this year we’re planning on winning the competition again. We need everyone’s support on this. It’s always a lot of fun and your teams need you.”
This year, the main event is the American Football game, which is taking place Wednesday, 29 March at Fortress Wyncote. This event is free, however please note some events are ticketed. For tickets, please visit the Sport Liverpool reception.
There will be buses running every half an hour between the Guild and Wynecote, from 12pm and 4pm day on Wednesday, 29 March. You will be asked to show your University of Liverpool student ID.
