University students invited to develop new start up ideas at LJMU’s Idealab

Computer Planning

Liverpool John Moores University’s student accelerator `Idealab’ is opening its doors for the first time to University of Liverpool graduates and is seeking talented teams of 2 and 4 students to develop and prototype their technology-driven ideas this summer.

`Idealab’ is an 8 week accelerator programme delivered by the multi-award winning team at the Centre for Entrepreneurship at LJMU. It is designed for teams of between 2 and 4 people to develop technology driven ideas that could have a potentially global marketplace.

`Idealab’ is delivered by the private sector and Professional Liverpool, who support the teams with executive level mentors and access to some of the most experienced business minds in the region.  The `Mentor in chief’ is local venture capitalist and LJMU enterprise fellow, Steve Stuart.

`IdeaLab’ uses evidence based entrepreneurship principles to validate business ideas through structured conversations with potential customers and stakeholders.  At the end of the programme participants will pitch at a celebratory event in front of an invited audience.

There is no obligation to start a new company, but if you do want to take the idea further, the university team will work with you to make your idea a reality. IdeaLab team expression of interest form 2017

If you wish to apply for this scheme please complete the pdf form and send it to startup@ljmu.ac.uk by 22 May 2017.  Any enquiries should be directed to Emma Robinson on 0151 231 2601.
