Important information: Changes to postgraduate research payments

If you’re a postgraduate researcher at the University, the frequency in which you receive your stipend payments is changing.

From Saturday, 1 July 2017, all stipend payments will be made on a monthly basis, instead of on a quarterly basis. The stipend will therefore be paid at the rate of 1/12th of the annual amount.  This will also apply to other payments you receive with your stipend, such as top-up payments (for CASE awards), stipend enhancements (e.g. AQM or CDA), Long Term Attachment payments, internships or Maternity Leave Pay.

The change will be implemented with effect from your next scheduled payment. For example, this could be Saturday, 1 July, Tuesday, 1 August or Friday, 1 September 2017. If you are currently on suspension, the change will be implemented when you return to your studies.

The terms and conditions of your award will not change. Please refer to your funding offer letter and relevant webpages.

We have introduced this change to your payments as a result of your feedback, which was received after consultation during postgraduate Faculty meetings.

If you would like more information about the changes to your payments, please contact Debbie Henderson via the studentships email:
