Open Languages – a new initiative that will give all students the opportunity to learn a language – launches at the University this term.
The initiative is open to all students – no matter what course you are studying or what level of study you are at.
Students can register for a beginners or advanced (post-A Level) course and each module costs £150. The modules will be studied alongside your degree programme.
There are eight languages you can choose to learn, including:
|· Basque||· German|
|· Catalan||· Italian|
|· Chinese||· Portuguese|
|· French||· Spanish|
Speaking about Open Languages, Matthew Philpotts, Head of Modern Languages and Cultures, said: “We’re excited to be able to offer students the opportunity to learn a language. In our increasingly globalised world, we realise that language skills are becoming increasingly important.
“We hope students will make the most of this initiative and, if you’re curious about learning a new language, I recommend you get in touch with our Open Languages team to find out more.”
