Arriva will be running additional buses on the 699 Arriva service for the remainder of Welcome Week after students experienced delays this morning.
The delays were caused because the weekend service had been scheduled, instead of the usual weekday service. During the weekend, buses do not run before 10.30am.
The University have worked with Arriva over this matter and the 699 bus schedule for Tuesday to Friday (19 to the 22 September) this week will now be as follows:
Carnatic Halls: 08:05 08:20 08:50 09:15 09:40 10:10
Derby Halls: 08:10 08:25 08:55 09:20 09:45 10:14
University: 08:30 08:45 09:15 09:40 10:05 10:35
This week, from 10.30am onwards, a 20-minute weekend service will run. The last bus travelling from halls to campus will leave Carnatic Student Village at 11:30pm.
From Monday, 25 September the normal weekday and weekend service will be in operation. To view a copy of the 699 timetable, please visit the Arriva website.
Speaking about the issue, Ellen Ellis, Halls’ Student Experience Manager, said: “After speaking with Arriva about this issue and arranging for additional buses to run, we hope you should now be able to attend all of the Welcome Week activities you had planned to.”
If you have any further issues with the Arriva service during Welcome Week, please contact the Halls’ Student Experience Team.
