Fire causes damage at derelict Dale Hall

A large fire has caused damage to Dale Hall in Mossley Hill.

Damage was caused to the structure of the building following the fire which broke out at around 5.45pm on Sunday (3 December). The University is working closely with the police and fire service to investigate the cause.

Dale Hall was part of the University’s residential campus in Mossley Hill and provided rooms for students until 2014 but has not been used since that time. The University has decided to sell the building as part of a long-term strategy to enhance its accommodation and invest further in the student experience at Liverpool.

Together with the prospective buyers of Dale Hall – Elan Homes – the University has submitted a planning application to Liverpool City Council in order to demolish the accommodation and develop a number of new homes on the site.
